Another reminder to Tamil Diaspora…………

“Our children are going to school without fear. They are learning and they have a clear future. Nobody is forcibly taking out our children as did the LTTE in past. We suffered a lot under LTTE control” one Tamil lady who was with a child said loudly last Saturday when the busy Main Street of Kilinochchi overflew with agitated Tamil demonstrators against Tamil Diaspora outside the country who protested against HE the Presidents arrival at the Heathrow airport, England at an invitation by the Oxford University.  In the meantime, two more Tamil MPs, Colombo District Parliamentarian, Mr Prabha Ganeshan and Mr, P. Digambaram, Nuwara Eliya Parliamentarian extended an open invitation to the Tamil Diaspora to assist the Government efforts to rebuild the lives of the rescued people in the northeast if they were genuinely concerned about helping them.

Major General Shavendra Silva, who is the competent person to address about the matters pertaining to the salvation of native Tamil civilians who were trapped in the grip of the  LTTE, had been enlightening different levels of society about the needs of that particular community for the whole time since the day he pioneered to rescue them. Once, addressing Insurance personnel on Management level in one of the leading Insurance group in the country he focused strategic levels of winning the hearts and mind of grieved Tamil civilians.

He was enthusiastically hailed and attracted by the audience, and his vision later on became a part of study in that regard, though the Tamil Diaspora is not aware of. As a man who walked from western sea shore of Mannar to the eastern waters of Vellamullivaikkal in Mulaithivu in the island he knew every inch of the land and everything about the civilian factor, because he was the man who rescued the highest amount of Tamil people by launching rescue operation during the Humanitarian operation when Tamil Diaspora was doing nothing to ease those civilians.

There had been time where common civilian were treated by LTTE as animals in war torn areas. Their rights were shamelessly ridiculed and children were deprived of their formal education, instead they were forcibly conscripted for the fighting mechanism.

Schools were closed and government administration had collapsed due to the escalation of LTTE atrocities in whole northern Wanni region in the island. There had been great deal of uncertainty in the society and very little time left for rational thinking. Civilians were thinking only of the ways and means of rescuing their children from conscription. Adults were forced to dig miles and miles of long trenches for LTTE cadres to fight SL Army. No cultivation of the land was allowed without permission and all the cultivated lands were under the sole authority of LTTE provincial leaders who were tasked to feed the leadership that included all in their family circles. Fisheries folks reclined as their boats were forcibly taken by LTTE sea cadres to launch attacks on SL Navy.

Maveer families were given priority in welfare matters and then the Porani families and sympathizers of LTTE members were benefited. The remaining poor civilians had been given nothing but harsh treatments during labour. This was continuing for the past thirty years in LTTE areas when southern based Tamil citizens were treated with equal rights in the society. Can the Diaspora say no to this? Poor innocent children were starving at the loss of their plate of rice to the roaring T-56. Did the Diaspora concerned about this? How many in the Diaspora worried about the hunger of the deprived children back in their native areas of northeast of the island when they were feeding their own children with folk and spoon?

LTTE’s terror on their own people had been obviously detected by their sinister acts that included tax collection in entry into cleared areas before the final military operation. Civilians whose relatives living in other parts of the island had been greatly penalized by this shameful act of LTTE and many civilians traveling on the A-9 reported had to pay tolls several times.

Gayathri, a converted LTTE cadre in one of the rehabilitation centers in Vavuniya expressed how LTTE made children revolt against military using cruel systems at their guerilla hideouts inside Wanni jungles. She revealed that the parents of recruits were intimidated for days and forced them to submit testimony terminating further affiliation thus allowing them to be absorbed into the armed family of LTTE, which was designed in such a way to victimize young cadres out in the field. That saved the skin of LTTE leadership that was spinning the wheel of brutalism against humanity irrespective of their own race.

This is what LTTE did for their own people.. What else you need to prove....???
